Week 01 Resourcing and Developing

I went to the ZhongDa fabric market in the last month to do some material soucing, I have always been impressed by the amounts and how many varieties out there. Materials have inspired my design too, sometimes when I ran out of ideas I would play around with the fabric first and trying to create a new silhouette with the fabric or some parts that I found from the market.

The new collection will be focusing on utility and durability, I took inspiration from constructor and farmer uniforms creating a style that I personly call it "New utility". Therefore, I was seeking fabrics and hardware that were heavy duty and strong. I found this latticed pattern denim fabric and came out with a new idea which is changing the patterns into the triangle. I contact the factory just wondering if they could be able to achieve this idea I have. However, I reach out and make a few yards just from sketches that I provided and I went to the factory office and learned some information that I have never seen before. I decide to make baggy pants that are inspired by 90 Carhart farmer pants.
