Since my last post I
have made a lot of progress on my third look. The patterns and prototypes are
complete; I have cut them out of my final fabric and started constructing the
garments. I have the jacket lining sewn together and the outer shell of the
jacket mostly sewn. Now I just need to sew them together and finish the hems to
finish up the jacket. The crop top is mostly done, just need to attach the
sleeves and finish the hems. The pant is also mostly done, I need to insert the
zipper, finish the waist and hem the bottom.
I love the fabrics I
chose for my collection; my favorite to work with has been the navy blue spacer
mesh. It has a great weight to it and sews fairly easy. The best word that
comes to mind when describing the port silk crepe is “creamy”. I love the color
of the fabric and the softness of it; but it has been a bit difficult to work
with. It is slippery and easy to snag.
Overall, I am making
great progress on this look and will finish it by Thursday. Along with this
look, I am completing an additional look for the show, which combines multiple
fabrics into one dress.
Below are some process
