Week 3 - Hazel
During Week 3 I worked on developing a nearly zero waste pattern for my first ensemble. I choose an expensive vintage fabric imported from France so I wanted to use as much of the material as possible. I also knew with this print I would have to do some problem solving to assure every pattern piece would fit in the right section of the print to create a symmetrical design that also fits my models measurements. I took a picture of my fabric and drew my pattern on top digitally, then I was able to print it directly on a polyester fabric using the printers in the flex lab. Printing my pattern onto fabric allows me to speed up the cutting process and it means my mockup will closer resemble my final garment.
