Hi again!
This week I focused on the final construction of the look I’m calling; ‘Empower’ or ‘Potenziare’ in Italiano. I decided to give all of my looks names to keep track of them as I am sewing but also while I am documenting the creation on this blog. I will be translating the names into Italian to tie in my family history and culture. I am learning Italian in my free time because I want to visit Sicily and Italy, to experience the culture and see if I have any extended family there. Since the name of my collection is an abbreviation of my last name, and my family have always been my biggest supporters, it seemed fitting to pay homage to the language that my grandparents spoke.
Next week I am having final fittings on my models to ensure the fit of the garments, I am working on recruiting more models currently, two of mine dropped out. The person I had planned to collaborate with, was supposed to style the hair for the show and they can no longer participate, so I am ready to take on the hair and makeup on my own, but the show must go on.
In other news, the pants are well on their way to completion, the inner layer side seams and French seamed pockets are in and ready to be attached to the organza layer. The top is cut out and interfaced, all that is left to do is for me to sit down and marathon sew it all together!
