I have finally finished my second ensemble. I spent the whole week hand sewing a rolled hem on the sleeves and everything has turned out how I wanted it!

BORISCHI - week 9
Week 9 - Touch Up
Finishing touches are in the works, as well as illustrations and flats. It’s been a crunch to do this in such a short time but I guess that’s show biz…

Week 9
This week I have been working on the small details of my design. I wanted to bring in some embroidered flowers that will be on my next ensemble as a tie in to my collection. I have also been working on a bias edge for the neckline and armholes that are both sewn by hand to give a little more control on this light knit fabric.

Week 8
I have been working on the construction of the under layer body con dress. In taking in the side seams of both the front and the back I have made a seamless and fitted garment that I had imagined for this design. I plan to finish this off with clear straps and a double layer to hide any raw edges.
Week 7
This week I am moving from my mock up design and transferring the finished design to my final fabric.

Week Eight - Ophelia
At week 8 the bodysuit is coming together for my second ensemble. I’m not 100% sure if I’ll have space to do a lace up look in the back, so I’ll have to get an opinion from the class on Tuesday. I have grommets and red ribbon, and I’m hoping to use the red ribbon on the back of the bodysuit in some way. I’m also not sure if I want to use snaps or hook and eyes to close the crotch area. I’ll have to use a closure at the crotch. Because of the nature of the fabric, it won’t fit over the butt of the pants form. I have plenty of fabric from Greece for the skirt and I’m excited to start gathering it.

Week 8 Fairytale
I’ve been working all week on finishing the big things on the velvet dress. After lots of seam ripping and adjusting patterns, I only have to hand sew the hem of the sleeves now. Super excited to start the next ensemble.

Week 8 - Avery Compton
This week was week 8 of the Capstone Collection process, and this week I realized that I wasn't happy with my original drape for Ensemble #2, so I decided to drape it again on the form and I was much more satisfied with the result.
Week 7 - Avery Compton
Last week was week 7, and I spent the week draping my bias-cut mach-up fabric on the form, which I then marked the seams, waist, front and back, hem, and neckline. I then took it off of the form so I could create a paper pattern for it.

Week 7 Fairytale
I finished making my second corset belt for the collection, it turned out super cool and I love it. I am working on cutting out my final pieces and figuring out how I want to attach the sleeves.
I am hoping by next week to have most of my ensemble put together and almost finished.

Week 7 - Sew Much to Do
12 hours of sewing on Tuesday did not do wonders for my back. I had used every pin I owned to get the foundation together for the gown, and now I will go back at it with tule, lace, and working on the bodice.

BORISCHI - Week 6
Week 6- Moving On
With look one done, we look forward to looking at two and figuring out where to go! Here are the final illustrations and flats for the first look. As I started pinning this week, I looked back to this design for inspiration.

Week 6- Fairytale
I have started working on my prototype for my second ensemble. I did some patterning as well. I’m super excited for how it’s going to turn out. By next week I should have my second belt done and starting on my final version of ensemble 2.

Week Six - Avery Compton
This week is the first week that we are officially working on our second ensembles, and for my second, I will be making outfit #1 of my collection, which will be a long, green, silky, bias cut dress that will have some surface embroidery and appliqué.
I have already picked out a fabric to use for this ensemble, and luckily I have enough to make this dress. I have already started draping a mach-up fabric before I start making the final garment.
