It’s been a while since I’ve updated you all. A couple of weeks ago I was under the weather and it threw me off my game big time. Being behind is already stressful. But having to start from scratch, with limited materials and time makes it even harder. I may be behind but it’s not keeping me from progress. Exhaustion is creeping up on me but I’m reminding myself of what progress I have made and the results I’m striving for. I’m by far no expert on fashion or life. The struggle is real and if you are one of them just know you’re not alone and don’t stop, you’ll be glad you didn’t in the end.
Thus far I’ve gotten all my technical flats created, 4/8 Order of Operation instructions drafted, and three in-progress samples. This is nowhere near where I’d like to be but sometimes you have to acknowledge what is done to plan accordingly to meet goals.
Creating the order of operations takes a lot of time and thought processes. I’m very hands-on and visual so as I type the instructions I also stretch out small diagrams to map out the pieces. It’s one thing to do the instructions but it’s another thing to verbalize what you are doing. It’s very tidiest but it is helpful to reference as I make my samples. It pushes me to think about the practicalities and functions of the illustrations of a garment.
I am excited to present to you the materials I will be using for my final garments. I was able to find a braided yarn that matches the color and aesthetic just right. This will definitely save me time from crocheting the trim and armholes. I also received my ribbed knit for the turtleneck but the color I’m not so sure about it and may order another color to compare.
My goal is to have 3-4 completed ensemble samples by Thursday. I keep pushing it but there’s no choice but to. Praying I to successfully present these to you next time.
Until then remember there’s,
Always room to grow!
Love,
HumbleBeginnings
