Hello everyone!
This week marks the completion of the first ensemble of this spring’s capstone collections!
What a joy it has been to work alongside such talented people, sharing this milestone was an inspiring experience for me.
It was slow going at first, but with the final look under my belt, I feel confident in my abilities to finish the rest of my looks.
Ensemble 1 involved creating a silk bodice with organza bubble sleeves and a pair of adjustable stretch pants. It took lots of planning and mockups of the pants to get the right proportions and construction techniques to achieve the look I envisioned. I even used the final fabric I had in a different color to test how the fabric behaved. I am most proud of the closure for the pants, 3 soft elastics were sewn to each side of the back waist extensions, this eliminates bulk while providing secure support for the wearer. The front waist has sewn ties in self fabric to keep the pants on the body and self-ties elevate the construction.
I have yet to finish the beaded belt for this look, but I plan to make the accessories once the bulk of my looks are finished.
Thanks for tuning in this week!
