Every
year the seniors are required to have a professional in the fashion industry
evaluate or review their final collection for capstone. In the evaluations we
are to discuss our concept, fabric choices, silhouettes, costs, and over-all
vision for our collection. We are required to do both a mid-review and final
review with our choice of professional.
Today I
had my mid-review with the director of business development at A.K. Rikk’s, Ben
Tobar. I presented to him my collection using the working board I created which
includes my mood board, fabric swatches, illustrations and flats of my
collection, target market, and competition brands. I also showed him two
completed looks that will walk the runway. Ben offered great feedback! We
discussed a few possible changes in design to which I will give more thought.
We also discussed cost and what my future brand might look like. I am very
pleased with our meeting and look forward to continuing working with him! We
have a final review set and at that time he will see my whole collection before
it hits the runway.
For now
I will continue working on my next look, which is a jumpsuit and a jacket. Below
are some process photos; very excited for this look!
iNext
week’s blog will be coming from Paris; as I will be leaving for Europe next
week! I am so incredibly excited and blessed to be partaking in this trip!!
Shout out to Pamella Roland DeVos, Lori Faulkner and KCAD for making this
amazing trip possible!
jusqu'à la prochaine fois,
