Hello!
This past week I worked on starting a mock up for my first look. My first ensemble I’m making is my long cut out dress and fur bolero. I made the pattern for both and then cut the fabric out of a knit for the dress only to realize that the design was way too big. I then also realized I need a stabilizer for my fabric so the cut out isn't so flimsy, and possibly a mesh behind for extra support. I got muslin to remake the dress in to see if the pattern is the problem or if the knit stretched too much and that is the issue. I then realized with the bolero I want to have the circle in the back instead of the front because having it in the front makes putting it on and off much more difficult.
So I have the first mock up of the dress done, the second mockup cut out and ready to sew and the bolero mock up done and ready to move on to final for it. Next week I hope to finish my first look and start moving on to my second look.
