VIER: Week 4

This week, I went to Tandy leather for the FIRST TIME! I felt like a kid in a candy store! I shopped around a bit and ended up buying a whole hide of peach colored leather for about $100. It was the perfect color and weight and I am very excited to work with real leather for the first time.

On Wednesday the fourth, I worked in the lab all day on my patterns for my first ensemble. Luckily, my top’s design is very similar to the military jacket I made last semester. So I traced that pattern, made my adjustments, then made my mockup out of vinyl- which is not easy to work with. However, my mockup top and long circle skirt turned out very nice and minor alterations are needed.

Today I plan on making the alterations to my patterns and then starting to cut and sew my final 1st ensemble.
