Hi, I’m Riley Floreno!
I have titled my Spring 23’ Capstone Collection, ‘flo’, an acronym which stands for fluidity, luxury, and organic. This line of looks is interchangeable and features 2–3-piece sets for maximum wearability; the main embellishments are pearl accessories and the use of lustrous fabrics. I chose a wide variety of fabrics to both challenge myself and be conscious of my consumption of new textiles.

This week I focused on measuring and sourcing final fabric from my existing stash. Making note of the fabric yardage and intended purpose has helped me to organize the variety of textiles I am using. I also want to include the work I have put in before Spring semester.
Through the months of September – December of 2022 I created statement pieces for my collection. A dress made from pearl beads, this dress was, and still is, a labor of love which I started planning the making of in March of 2022. The process inspired me to create a pearl beaded bag and belt to incorporate into my final line-up.
