Hi all!
This week I focused on patterning and sewing toiles of two different top styles for my collection. The first top is symmetric with under bust gathering, curved center front hem, and elasticated, shirred back panels. The second takes inspiration form the first top design and plays with the placement of shirring, fullness, and hem shape. In this post, I have included images of these garments, I was really surprised when I looked back at the process, even the simplest changes made all the difference and accomplished my design goals for the second style. I wanted to create something asymmetric, and high fashion without straying from the mood and function I had marketed to my target audience. What I came up with felt like a good balance between wearability and “one-of-a-kind”. I also created the first draft of my lineup.
